Mu-wa-ha-ha-ha-ha!
31st of October is Hallowe’en! Do you know what Hallowe’en is? Why do we have Hallowe’en?
Well, these days Hallowe’en means PARTY!
What kind of party? Usually a costume party, people like to dress up as their favourite ghost, monster and even film character and go to their friends’ houses for food and games. Many people in Hong Kong go to Ocean Park to visit the ghost houses and have a scary-good time.
What do you do on Halloween?
Did you visit Ocean Park?
What will you do on Halloween?
Next week will be Mid-Autumn Festival. A time for gazing at the full moon, eating mooncakes and playing with lanterns.
The story of Mid-Autumn Festival is about a woman named Chang Er, she stole the king’s medicine. The medicine would give her long life. But the medicine was too strong and made her fly up to the moon.
So, today we go outside every year with our lanterns and mooncakes to say, ‘hello’ to Chang Er.
What do you think of Mid-Autumn Festival?
What will you do?
Tell us all about it!
But remember to be careful next week and don’t play with wax.
We are now two weeks back at school, CONGRATULATIONS.You must all be feeling very happy to be back.
Do you have any messages for your teachers or classmates? Then write them here…
Tell us about what you did this summer…
I hope that we all have a great year filled with fun and hard-work. Study hard and enjoy yourselves this year!
Tomorrow is the Dragon Boat Festival. Do you know the story of the Dragon Boat Festival? The story of Qu Yuan?
What will you do on the Dragon Boat Festival? If you got to Stanley on Hong Kong Island, or to Shatin in the New Territiories, you can see teams from all over Hong Kong and the world racing against each other in these boat races.
Each boat has people rowing, and one person to beat a drum. The drummer tells the rowers how fast they should go, a fast beat means row faster, a slow beat means you can slow down…BOOM-DI-BOOM-DI-BOOM…
Could you be a dragon boat racer? What do you eat at the Dragon Boat Festival?
Leave a comment and tell us all about what you will do/what you did at the festival.
Happy Dragon Boat Festival!
Last week we finished our final exams of the year.
How do you feel about examinations? How do you think you did? Will you get the results you want?
What do you think about exams at school or in Hong Kong? Do you think you have too many exams or just enough? Are exams important, if so, why are they important?
Tell us about your ideas…
Summer is coming! Summer is coming!
The Sun is out, it’s getting hotter and school will be finishing for the holidays. Many people will go away during the summer for a relaxing holiday. Spending time with their families, enjoying trips to the beach or barbecues.
What will you do this summer? Will you visit another country? What will you do if you stay in Hong Kong? What do you like to do in the summer holidays? What do you like to eat?
Tell us all about it…
